HAFF 2012 opening titles from Kinetic Pixel on Vimeo.

For the second year, we created the opening titles for Helsinki African Film Festival. In this case, the festival poster was covered with beautiful lettering which we separated by hundreds of layers and animated them all. The idea was to design 3 scenes related to the Film Festival and Africa:
- Screening of a movie
- Festival Club / African party
- African masks

All of the scenes are formed by the reels of the projectors (the eyes of the audience)

The festival takes place in Andorra, Bio Rex and Stoa 2 - 5 May, Helsinki. You can see their program here:

Motion Designer: Jose M. Sánchez (Kinetic Pixel)
Sound Designer: Markku Louhio (Kinetic Pixel)

Thanks to Tero Tikkanen (Byfar Studio) for developing the idea with us.

The Making of John Mayer’s ‘Born & Raised’ Artwork from Danny Cooke on Vimeo.

David A. Smith is a traditional sign-writer/designer specialising in high-quality ornamental hand-crafted reverse glass signs and decorative silvered and gilded mirrors. David recently produced a wonderful turn-of-the-century, trade-card styled album cover for popular American singer/songwriter John Mayer.

This film captures the ‘Behind The Scenes’ creation of the ‘Born & Raised’ and ‘Queen of California’ artwork, as well as 2 unique reverse glass panels, hand-crafted in England by David A. Smith.
